Hiking Beaver Ponds

One night after work my friend Laura and I hiked the Beaver Ponds Trail. Beaver Ponds is a 5 mile trail in the hills behind Mammoth. It's been a long time since I have hiked this trail and I was quickly reminded why I always loved it. It's an easy hike, convenient and has gorgeous views.

It was a really nice night and relatively warm, so we really lucked out. Along the hike we saw many deer, elk, one grouse and many gorgeous views. Oh and we even saw shooting stars, which are one of my favorite wildflowers.

Montana Race for the Cure

Last weekend I headed to Helena, Montana to run in the Montana Race for the Cure 5k race. It was a gorgeous day, one of the first warm weekends we have had. As for the race itself, it went really well. I ran the entire things without walking, which I haven't done in awhile. More importantly I felt great and the end and easily could have gone further. Here I come Seattle!

Back in Yellowstone

Well, since I have been working in Yellowstone again for the last month I figured it was about time I updated the blog and let you all know where I am and how I am.

So, why am I here again you may ask? After 9 months of unemployment, and nothing hopeful on the horizon in Boise, I decided to return for a seasonal contract in Yellowstone. I am back in Mammoth Hot Springs, working in the reservation department and will be here until October. After that, who knows?

So far things are going good. It was exhausting to actually be working again, but things are settled down and I am keeping busy with lots of other things outside of work. (Mianly training for my half marathon at the end of June.
